On March 11, 2025, the Bucharest Tribunal approved the request of judicial administrator RTZ & Partners and officially closed KDF Energy SRL’s judicial reorganization process.
KDF Energy SRL entered insolvency in 2017 following the energy crisis of winter 2016-2017, which impacted multiple electricity suppliers.
In 2021, the company began its judicial reorganization under a plan proposed, designed, and implemented by RTZ & Partners. Successfully executing such a complex plan would not have been possible without the close cooperation of creditors, the RTZ & Partners team, and KDF Energy’s management.
Throughout the reorganization, KDF Energy continued operating ”business as usual”, preserving its brand and assets while expanding into the IT sector. Under the three-year restructuring plan, secured creditors, employees, and the state budget were fully repaid in the first year, while unsecured creditors received staggered payments over the following two years.
In total, debts amounting to 45.5 million RON were settled.
By the end of 2024, KDF Energy had met all the requirements of the reorganization plan. As a result, the syndic judge closed the judicial reorganization process, allowing the company to resume normal commercial operations. In 2024, KDF Energy reported a profit of 3,639,867 RON.
KDF Energy is a fully Romanian-owned company, with George Brăiloiu as its sole shareholder. Part of a larger group of companies controlled by Brăiloiu, KDF Energy focused on IT services during the reorganization period.
Now that the restructuring is complete, KDF ENERGY S.R.L. aims to strengthen its position in the market by expanding its product and service portfolio and driving sustainable business growth.
